An essay from a REAL conservative American website with an interesting take on the next four years. In terms of international interventionism (less of it), civil liberties (more of it) and the economy (no bailout), I support these guys - although I may be open to persuasion.
This is their briefest Mission Statement:
"Our mission is to promote and defend the great American principles of individual liberty, constitutional government, sound money, free markets, and a noninterventionist foreign policy, by means of educational and political activity."

That there is little significant difference between the Reps and Dems is something I've been saying for years and it has a habit of annoying many Americans. They both want to stay in power and will say whatever is needed to do it, and hence have a first priority overriding all others of saying what people want to hear at election time and then not doing very much once they're in power, for fear of upsetting people. I agree with her that far. The strength of the fights that Americans engage in between these mostly similar parties is really rather astonishing when you think about it.
I have problems with anyone who takes as a starting principle that taxation is theft, as does the author of that article Bretigne Shaffer (although she does hide this behind "redistribution of wealth". But, all of those predictions look likely to be correct to me.
One point though: I wouldn't call that a conservative web site in either the British or American meaning of the term. It appears strongly Libertarian to me.
