"The Bureau is charged with administering and enforcing the Antiboycott Laws under the Export Administration Act. Those laws discourage, and in some circumstances, prohibit U.S. companies from furthering or supporting the boycott of Israel sponsored by the Arab League, and certain Moslem countries, including complying with certain requests for information designed to verify compliance with the boycott. Compliance with such requests may be prohibited by the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and may be reportable to the Bureau."

  I bet it doesn't too. This law pretty much flies in the face of the so-called free trade environment that America claims to be proud of. It also makes clear the unquestioning support that America has for Israel and it's actions. I'd get mad if I didn't know it was pointless.

    I think this is part of the reason I got so down this week...when a country can flout 46 legally binding UN resolutions since it was founded, it's clear that with the USA's uncritical support of it financially and militarily, it can do exactly what it wants without anybody being able to rein it in...this strikes me as an unbelievably dangerous precedent because no other state on earth can do that without paying a price...

Yeah but Israel are getting bombed by US built rockets right?
And the Yanks buy oil from Arabs right?
Free trade US style...now they are talking about protectionism by not buying Japanese cars.
The anti dumping issue which they lost by a landslide in 2002 is obviously worth the risk again.
