Hi to everybody...just wanted to let you know that there was an excellent discussion on Melvin Bragg's 'In our Time' on Greek Myths and their origins and effects on our modern world...if you didn't get a chance to hear it, I can highly recommend it on Listen Again...on Radio4...
There was a most interesting description of myth as thought experiments...it threw a whole new light on the word that I have been using to describe what's in the Bible and other books revered by other religions...hope you do decide to listen to it if you didn't this morning...big hugs...

Oh, good you heard it...I thought his guests were excellent today...I know Bragg's a bit difficult to take sometimes and at times sharp and rather rude with his female guests, but it's still one of only two progs I really think is stimulating in its subject matter...the other one being Start the Week with Andrew Marr who I much prefer to Bragg...It's made me want to go and read the Greek myths, something I've never actually done...

Yes - very excellent prog. I dont like Melvin Bragg (an intellectual snob), but he often has very interesting discussions with interesting people.
I shall make a point of listening to the Greek myths one again when I dont have to concentrate on driving in heavy traffic, as it was particularly good.
