LOL!
Our quiz team yesterday was called:
So where will the naturist hold his i.d card then?
keep chanting -
Welcome to the age of change. The naturists will be compelled to wear a smiley face mask to protect them from paedophiles and all those drug dealers who hang around outside schools injecting children with free heroin. So they can have their cards glued to any other convenient part. Bless the Dear Leader.

I will not buy a card; I posted on ID cards yesterday.
The Conservatives and Liberals are against ID cards and it will take decades before they can be brought in, by that the a change of Government is inevitable, but I fully believe that when another party comes to power they will still introduce ID cards. No matter what they say now, they will continue and introduce ID cards.
How do I know this, because all politicians lie?
Rabbit
I think ID cards are great, not because the politicians suggested it, but because it seems more and more like 1984. This dream that we are stepping into slowly but surely is uncannily like Orwell's creation.
Who knows, do you have a webcam in your bedroom??
BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU>

Presumably the government will waive the charge for the unemployed, long-term sick and disabled. Or at least those who're on Jobseekers Allowance (Income Based) because they've never workd. While the rest of us who find ourselves in such circumstances through no fault of our own have to pay because we have savings and/or paid NI.
Still. At least we don't have to worry about the biometric data being insecurely held on the card. They'll probably just lose the database on DVDs.
I have yet to see any evidence that ID cards would have prevented a single crime or terrorist attack.
The next step will be to build in a satellite tracking chip into the card so that the government will know where you are, or have been, and who you speak to about what - they can already do that through your mobile phone.
and the next step after that will be to impant the GPS chip directly into the person's butt.
I am not carrying any card and certainly not paying for it - I am tired of all this nonsense and when is it going to stop, what rights do we have left exactly?
